Board confirms multiple hires, accepts resignations and a retirement following executive session

The Stark County CUSD 100 Board of Education convened to executive session Aug. 19 to discuss employee compensation, non‑renewals and personnel matters, then reconvened and approved a series of personnel actions. The board voted to approve hires and assignments including Melissa Jackson as Vocational Director, Marianna DeBolt as Junior High Speech Coach and eSports Advisor, John L. Carroll as Sophomore Class Sponsor, Annabelle Young as kitchen staff, and multiple volunteer assistant coaches and supervisors. Several motions were made and seconded by board members (many by Mrs. Emily Leezer) and the approvals were recorded with 6–0 tallies in several cases after Mr. Joseph Rediger left during executive session.
The board also announced resignations and a retirement: resignations included Melissa Jackson (as PM Supervisor), Rita Singer (Kitchen Worker), Sarah Barnes (Kitchen Worker), Bart Frey (High School Science Teacher and coaching/sponsor positions), Chad Gardner (Softball Assistant Coach), and Marc Magnussen (Pre-K Bus Aide). Mrs. Diana Gilles announced her retirement effective at the conclusion of the 2024–25 school year. The board approved the Executive Session minutes Not for Release and several personnel appointments as part of the reconvened business.
