Community Arts Center to get window air-conditioning after board presses for insurance and lease clarity

Laura Gianotti, speaking for the Winhall Community Arts Center, told the Select Board the Center runs many programs and is "bringing an average of 500 people into the building per month, 125 per week." She raised needs including replacement of a concrete platform at the ramp base (a temporary propane line would need removal) and installation of promised mini-split air conditioning.
Board members agreed the Center is an extension of the Town but requested up-to-date liability insurance documentation. Christie Boswell moved to install a window air-conditioner in the Center immediately and add a second if needed; Beth Grant seconded and the motion passed unanimously. The Board asked Facilities to install the unit(s), recommended budgeting for a mini-split in 2027-28, and asked the Center to provide a certificate of liability insurance. Coleman said the Town is responsible for posting capacity notices required by the fire marshal.
