McSwain trustees approve wide-ranging board policy updates

The McSwain Union Elementary School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved a package of board policy and bylaw revisions on Jan. 13, 2026. Trustee Scoto moved to approve the updates and Trustee Halpin seconded; the motion passed with all five trustees voting in favor.
The approved changes cover a broad set of items listed in the motion: BP 1000; BP 1114 and AR 1114; BP 2120; AR 3311.3; BP 3470; BP 4000; BP 5020 and AR 5020; BP 5117; BP 5138; BP 6020 and AR 6020; BP 6143 and AR 6143; BP 7000; BP 7131; BP 9310 and Board Bylaw 9310; and Board Bylaw 9321. Board action was taken after the presentations and reports earlier in the agenda. No roll-call dissent was recorded; minutes reflect unanimous passage.
