The commission approved a revised proposal at 7 Red Cross Avenue to replace an earlier, more obtrusive garage with a detached two-car garage and a slightly smaller attached cabana. Applicant Mark Horan presented before the commission and discussed changes following two site visits by commissioners.
Commissioners who attended the site visits said the revised design reduced massing and better respected the property's historic landscape. The applicant described reductions in garage square footage and changes to the cabana configuration; he noted the garage footprint is approximately 22'6" by 24' (about 550 square feet) and that the cabana is slightly smaller than previously proposed. Commissioners asked about grade differentials and visibility; the applicant explained the garage would be largely screened by the main house and grade changes. The commission moved and approved the application with supporting exhibits accepted into the record.
