City submits downtown revitalization grant and readies Festival of Lights video
Summary
City staff submitted a downtown revitalization grant application and produced event videos for downtown promotion; council members praised staff and partners and said they expect award announcements in spring.
City staff (Sean Alverson) told the council that the downtown revitalization grant application has been submitted and thanked local partners — including CCOG and consultants — for their assistance. He said the city should hear whether it received funding in the coming spring.
Staff also reported production of short videos highlighting downtown events (trick-or-treat and the Festival of Lights) and that the videos will be available for council review. The city continues shop-local promotional work with the Chamber of Commerce and other outreach activities to support downtown businesses.
Council thanked staff and volunteers for festival and outreach work and asked staff to continue coordination with partners as grant results and event promotion proceed.
