The Angel Fire Firewise Committee formally nominated Jeff Wallace for a primary seat and Tammy Wallace for an alternate seat and agreed to forward those recommendations to the village council for appointment. Mike, a committee member who described having worked with Jeff on local mitigation initiatives, said he would present the nominations to council for approval.
Lindsay, a village staff speaker, described the appointment process and the alternate activation procedure, noting it would be a recommendation to the mayor and council for formal nomination and approval. "That process would be a recommendation to the mayor. He will nominate them at a council meeting, counsel them to approve, and we would essentially have 1 of you serve as an alternate," Lindsay said. The committee made the nomination by voice vote and indicated it will present the nominations at the next council meeting.
