The Culpeper County Highway Commission voted to change the intersection of City Industrial Park Road and the new access road across Route 41 to a four-way stop after members said the crossing has been the site of recent wrecks. Arliss (committee member) made the motion and Jeff (committee member) seconded; the chair called for a voice vote and the motion carried.
Members discussed supplemental safety measures to alert drivers. Arliss said, “It definitely needs a 4 way stop,” and colleagues suggested adding signs and rumble strips because many drivers “aren't gonna realize it till they're on top of it.” The commission also agreed to bring the matter to the rural roads and bridges committee for follow-up, including placement and any additional traffic-calming devices.
