Dr. Anthony McConnell, superintendent of schools, told the Steger School District 194 Board of Education that the Strategic Planning Committee recently met to review insights from focus groups and will meet again Oct. 28 to draft a Portrait of a Graduate and revised mission and vision statements for the district.
The superintendent said the committee—which includes board members Jill Raymond and Nicholas Hutchison alongside staff and parent representatives—expects to present a final strategic plan for board approval in the near future. McConnell also previewed the district's new website design and described his participation, with Raymond and Buffy Garcia, in an IASA Global Service project in the Dominican Republic to explore service-learning opportunities for students and staff.
