Board grants tenure to multiple certificated employees

The Santee School District Board unanimously granted tenure Oct. 15 to a group of certificated employees across sites including Cajon Park, Carlton Oaks, Chet F. Harritt, Hill Creek, Pepper Drive, Sycamore Canyon and Special Education programs.
The Board granted tenure to a slate of certificated employees presented by Assistant Superintendent David McLeod at the Oct. 15 meeting.
Site administrators read congratulatory messages for each eligible employee. Newly tenured staff listed by name and position included Zaira Perez‑Cruz (School Counselor, Cajon Park); Rebecca Thompson (K‑1, Carlton Oaks); Elena Michelle Castro (SDC 3rd/4th, Carlton Oaks); Celeen Klus (5th Grade, Chet F. Harritt); Courtney Breslow (ERHMS Social Worker, Chet F. Harritt); Hayley Hampson (2nd Grade, Hill Creek); Sarah Farmer (ERHMS Social Worker, Hill Creek); Nichole Shirey (School Counselor, Pepper Drive); Cheryl Cauldren (SDC RSP, Pepper Drive); Emily Cole (SDC RSP, Pepper Drive); Jessica Sherman (TK, PRIDE Academy); Maria Shinsky (5th Grade, Sycamore Canyon); Monique Rappleyea (Adaptive PE, Special Education); and Danielle Meyers (ERHMS Social Worker, Special Education).
Member Dianne El‑Hajj moved approval; Member Barbara Ryan seconded. The motion carried by a recorded vote of 5-0. The Board offered congratulations to the newly tenured employees.
