The Delmar School representative reported that new arrival and dismissal procedures are running smoothly and said follow-through by all participants makes the system efficient. "Although we can say we typically have about 380 students safely out of the building into the correct car or bus in about 17 minutes," the presenter said.
Staff highlighted a K–2 virtual author visit by children's author and illustrator Lauren Long arranged through a vendor and noted literacy night scheduled for Nov. 6. The presenter said 6th graders will attend Camp Pitch Oct. 27–29 and that a parent information meeting was well attended; the speaker thanked the PTO for monetary support toward the trip.
Delmar staff also previewed upcoming bus-safety week and an elementary professional-learning session focused on literacy coaching and curriculum work.
