WCIDA to launch Business Retention & Expansion survey of current customers, then countywide outreach

Brian Pincelli, WCIDA Executive Director, told the board that staff will start a Business Retention & Expansion (BRE) effort with a draft survey included in the board packet and will expand outreach from current WCIDA/WEDC customers to other Wayne County businesses over a period of months.
Pincelli said the survey and site visits will take time to implement and that staff will update the board over the next few months. Julie DiLella suggested preparing a marketing packet with resources and contact information to accompany outreach. Board members recommended engaging code enforcement officers and local consultants to identify project hurdles and increase site readiness for prospective projects. Pincelli also noted the IDA's ongoing work with MRB on a Water and Wastewater Study and referenced broker‑generated data listed in the packet as "REsimplif1i."
