City to map car lanes in about a month; bike lanes to get first-ever OCI mapping, engineer says

When asked about timing, David Jones estimated the van's drive to map car lanes would take "a month." He also described a smaller bicycle-mounted unit that will later collect data specifically on bike lanes; "we're gonna get OCI for the roadway for cars...but we're also getting it for the bike lanes for the 1st time," he said.
Jones framed the bike-lane mapping as an expansion of coverage compared with past collections and said it will supply staff with lane-type–specific measurements to inform maintenance choices for cyclists as well as motorists.
