Washington Grove swears in councilors, confirms appointments and introduces new town administrator
Summary
Mayor Compton administered oaths to Councilor Peter Nagrod and newly elected Councilor Nick Patrone; Barbara Raimondo was approved as Mayor Pro-Tem and Peter Nagrod as Planning Commission chair. The council also welcomed Anna Burke as the new Town Administrator.
During Council Organizational Business on May 18, Mayor John G. Compton administered the oath of office to re-elected Councilor Peter Nagrod and newly elected Councilor Nick Patrone. The Mayor reviewed the online Council Handbook and reminded appointees and councilors of the Maryland Open Meetings Act training requirements and the expectation that certifications be filed with the Town Clerk.
The council unanimously approved Mayor Compton’s appointment of Barbara Raimondo as Mayor Pro-Tem and approved the Mayor’s appointment of Peter Nagrod as Planning Commission Chair (both votes 6-0). Later in the meeting the Mayor introduced Anna Burke as the new Town Administrator; the council welcomed her to the position. The council also approved Margaret Church as an alternate to the Planning Commission for a five-year term beginning July 1, 2026.
