The Washington Grove Town Council voted unanimously May 18 to adopt Ordinance 2026-03, approving the town budget for the fiscal year June 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027, and levying an ad valorem tax on assessable property. Mayor John G. Compton presided over the meeting; the council adopted the ordinance as amended by a 6-0 vote.
The council held a public hearing on the ordinance earlier in the meeting and recorded that no testimony was offered. Treasurer Jean Moyer provided a brief review of the April financial report during organizational business, and the council later moved and seconded to approve the ordinance in unfinished business. The council’s formal motion to adopt Ordinance 2026-03 was approved 6-0, completing the formal budget adoption process for FY27.
