Connors credits community support for budget wins, updates Quashnet HVAC work and invites volunteers

Michelle Connors said the district went to voters for two overrides and a Quashnet HVAC project; she told the audience that because of community support the district preserved services while making targeted reductions. "We had to come before the taxpayers and ask you to vote the way you felt best, because we would never tell you how to vote, for 2 overrides that would have an effect, on Mashpee Public Schools, as well as the QuashNet HVAC project," Connors said.
Connors noted that Quashnet's HVAC work included installing a fire-suppression system to improve building safety and said volunteers are a vital resource. She named Consuelo Carroll as volunteer coordinator and encouraged club members to read to students, participate in mock interviews and consider a youth contest or scholarship suggested by a club member to deepen engagement between the club and local students.
Connors thanked the community for support and said the district will continue targeted, fiscally responsible budgeting to protect student services.
