At the review hearing for 1104 South Perry, staff told the board the structure has been removed but the foundation slab remains. The clerk noted the previous order had required removal of the structure and cleanup, and staff said the slab had not been explicitly ordered removed in earlier action. The city building inspector recommended the foundation be removed because the site is adjacent to a ballpark and poses a nighttime safety hazard. "My opinion would be the foundation should come out of there," the inspector said.
Board members asked whether the owner intended to save portions of the cinder-block walls; staff recalled earlier discussions in which the owner sought to preserve some walls and possibly reuse the slab, but the inspector said the walls were unsafe and should be removed. The board agreed to ask the owner to appear at the September 1 meeting to explain her plan and to clarify whether the city should issue an order to remove the slab.
