Mashpee emphasizes coherent instruction and early literacy as foundation for improvement

She identified inconsistent professional development and unclear leader roles as gaps to address and said the district will scale a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) to respond to academic, behavioral and social-emotional needs earlier.
The superintendent said the district is prioritizing early literacy, calibrating expectations across grades and investing in teacher teams and data practices to monitor implementation and student progress.
