The City of South Miami Historic Preservation Board unanimously approved application HPB-2025-003 to install two flat signs for NR Hair Salon at 5891 Southwest 72nd Street, a second-floor tenant in a historically designated building.
Staff told the board the signs measure 16 by 20 inches and fall under the flat-sign rules (less than 9 inches in depth), and recommended approval. "Both newly proposed sign comply with the flat sign, type guidelines of the code," a staff member said. New board member Natasha Simone described customers "circling, circling, circling" looking for the salon and said clearer signage would reduce that confusion. Chair moved to approve the application "consistent with staff's recommendation," the motion was seconded and the chair recorded the vote as unanimous. The board complimented the design and wished the business well.
