During audience participation resident John Kopulos thanked the board for fixing a streetlight and asked what had been done about a sewer odor in his neighborhood. Director of Public Infrastructure Dave Toepper said Thorn Creek Sanitary Basin engineers had offered possible solutions and that village staff would perform interior pipe inspections at affected homes to identify the source.
Toepper told Kopulos, "We are going to get into your house and your neighbors to take a look inside the pipes... I will be contacting you in the next two days." The board record indicates staff will follow up directly with residents to schedule inspections and further corrective work as needed.
