Resident seeks update on nonconforming fence at Cottage Grove address

Brenda Thunherst of 22720 Cottage Grove raised a complaint about a fence at 22730 Cottage Grove that the Village had determined did not conform to the Village Fence Ordinance. "It has not been over a year since it has been voted on or been in front of the zoning board," Village Administrator Mary Jo Seehausen told the meeting and said she was waiting for documents from the property owners.
Thunherst said she first contacted the Village in mid‑August and that the fence was still not completed then: "it was August 15, 16, 17 and 18th when I initially called the Village and the fence was not completely put up yet." Seehausen said the Village is working with the owners to achieve compliance and that zoning timing remains within the statutory review period.
