Aspen staff to present finalized Lumberyard ballot language at Aug. 12 meeting

City staff reminded council members that the draft bond-question language must be finalized quickly and that a resolution will be brought to the council's Aug. 12 regular meeting for formal approval.
Chris Everson told the council: "You have a regular meeting on August 12. We need the ballot language to be finalized by the end of the month," and said staff planned to bring a resolution at the Aug. 12 meeting to approve the ballot language. Council members signaled general comfort with moving the language forward on that schedule but asked staff to incorporate readability changes where legally permissible.
No vote was taken at the work session. Staff will return with finalized ballot language and a resolution for the Aug. 12 meeting; follow-up work sessions will address outstanding employer-priority mechanics and caps.
