Engineer proposes 30,000-gallon cistern as fire plan questions loom at Wraith Hill hearing

Fire protection and emergency access emerged as central concerns during the Wraith Hill hearing. DeLuxe Engineering’s Sarah Jones said the project team has been coordinating with the Georgetown Lake Volunteer Fire Department and proposed a cistern-based water supply sized initially at 30,000 gallons. "What they initially proposed was 30,000," Jones said, adding that pump capacity and final siting would be adjusted based on approved occupancy levels and GLVFD requirements. (Sarah Jones)
Board members repeatedly asked for a completed fire plan and clarification that GLVFD would approve any proposed mitigation measures before the project moves forward. Planning staff indicated an approved fire plan would be among the conditions required for a recommendation of approval. The board’s tabling vote requires the applicants to return with the finalized fire plan and GLVFD comments.
