During the Aug. 14 meeting, the Mokena School District 159 Board discussed its superintendent search process and agreed to interview three search firms: IASB, Educational Leadership Solutions, and Hazard Young Attea & Associates (HYA). The board decided to schedule a special meeting to accommodate firm availability.
Board members also discussed increasing public engagement by creating a rotating calendar of board attendance at community events and contacting the Village of Mokena to request a recurring segment in the village newsletter. These were discussion directions rather than formal motions requiring immediate action.
