Board OKs $37,000 sealcoating bid; authorizes RFP for MES/MIS fire panels

The Mokena School District 159 Board approved two facilities items on Aug. 14, 2024. A motion by Samantha Tunney to accept Rose Paving, LLC’s bid for sealcoating, striping, and parking lot repairs at Mokena Elementary School and Mokena Intermediate School passed unanimously. The motion authorized work "in an amount not to exceed $37,000."
Separately, the board approved a recommendation from Mrs. Anna Briscoe to issue a request for proposals for fire alarm panel upgrades at MES and MIS. Both votes were unanimous, 7‑0‑0. The items were presented as part of the district’s ongoing capital and safety work; Dr. Shaw had earlier reported other recent facilities projects and noted the parking lot expansion is scheduled for completion.
