Scott Bennett, North Logan’s budget officer, provided a line-item explanation for how the city would use the additional $139,615 if the proposed tax increases are adopted.
Bennett said $32,318 of the added revenue would be allocated to the police department to provide competitive salary increases intended for retention. He said $61,494 would be used to help meet Logan City Fire Department contract rate increases for the fiscal year. "And then for the library fund operations, the $45,803 would be to cover the new community center utilities and provide some community programs in the community center," Bennett said. The city also published an impact schedule with estimated mill rates and revenue figures.
