Hillsboro school board votes to dismiss non‑certified employee following executive session

The motion was seconded by Mike Cerutti and carried on a roll call vote recorded as Brian Patton, Blake Furness, Kassie Greenwood, Mike Cerutti and Bill Christian voting yes.
Superintendent McBrain and board members moved the matter into executive session twice during the meeting for discussion of appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees and to hear testimony on a complaint. The board also appointed Brian Patton to preside over an employee discipline hearing while in executive session. The district did not provide additional public details about the performance issues discussed at the meeting.
The dismissal is effective immediately per the motion made on the record; the board did not announce any planned follow-up actions at the meeting.
