At the retreat, members identified a strategic-plan refresh, more proactive advocacy for funding, attention to K–3 outcomes, and boundary/attendance-area study as priorities to feed into the evaluation and goal-setting calendar.
Board members used the survey discussion to surface district priorities they want captured in the coming year's goals. Suggestions included a district strategic-plan refresh, more active legislative advocacy to address funding shortfalls, strengthening early learning and Grade 3 literacy outcomes, and beginning a study of attendance-area/boundary options.
Members also emphasized maintaining fiscal stewardship and clarifying communication about levy and capital-project timelines so the community understands when funds will be spent. The facilitator agreed to draft a goal-setting template and calendar that incorporate these priorities for the September work session.
