County proclaims August Child Support Awareness Month; agency cites $29M in annual collections and service awards

The Clermont County Board of Commissioners proclaimed August 2026 as Child Support Awareness Month and invited Theresa Ellison, assistant director of the Clermont County Child Support Enforcement Agency, to explain services and recent performance.
Ellison said the division provides services including paternity establishment, order modification, establishment and enforcement of child-support and medical-support orders, and that the agency annually collects approximately $29,000,000 and provides services for more than 33,000 individuals, including over 13,000 children. She also described awards the agency received in federal fiscal year 2025 for improved arrears collection and paternity-establishment performance and noted the introduction of an AI phone system called EVA that reduced calls routed to front-desk clerks by more than 70%.
The board signed the proclamation; Ellison and staff will continue outreach events and public-information efforts for Child Support Awareness Month.
