The Clermont County Board of Commissioners on Aug. 5 adopted Resolution 124-26 to execute a Community Reinvestment Area (CRA) agreement with ADS Batavia Incorporated that would grant a 75% tax exemption on qualifying real-property improvements for a defined period.
Chris McClintock, director of community and economic development, told commissioners the project under discussion is an advanced-manufacturing facility with an anticipated first phase of roughly 1,000,000 square feet; he said typical CRA agreements are 15 years but may extend to 30 years for projects that meet Ohio’s "mega" criteria (for example, very large capital investment and payroll thresholds). "So what we're looking at is construction of approximately, in the first phase, about a 1,000,000 square foot facility," McClintock said. The township and school districts were consulted and the township passed a supporting resolution.
The board voted in favor of the CRA agreement; staff were directed to forward the signed agreement to the Ohio Department of Development, the Ohio Department of Taxation and the Clermont County Auditor as required by state law.
