The board approved a package of personnel actions recommended by district leadership that included certified contracts, supplemental contracts and an administrator contract.
Superintendent Joe Clark highlighted the hires and said bringing Hannah Fitzsimmons on as the school psychologist saves the district about $50,000 a year compared with outsourcing the position. "Being able to find Hannah saves the district about $50,000 a year, and we're thrilled to have her," Clark said. The board then approved intervention specialists Andrew Young and Lindsey Renoff and welcomed Mikayla (elementary) music teacher Mikaela/Mikayla Ross to the district.
Board also approved a three-year administrator contract to Sherry Phillips effective Aug. 1, converting her from ESE-funded employment to district payroll; the superintendent said the change will not increase costs to the district but will formalize her assignment. Supplemental contracts, volunteer recognitions (including a volunteer baseball coach, Dennis Gump), and a list of other certified contracts were approved in the same consent actions.
