The Village Board approved an ordinance allowing variations related to mechanical equipment and screening for a proposed EV charging station at the Pilot gas station at 1050 Illinois Route 83. Walter, speaking for staff, said the Community Development Commission (CDC) recommended approval by a 4–0 vote and clarified that "they would be using the parking spaces to the north" rather than adding new parking.
Board members asked about location and congestion at the corner; a Pilot representative acknowledged existing parking would be used. The board voted on the ordinance by roll call and the motion carried.
