Regional economic development group reports 222 open leads, private fundraising met for community land trust

Miss Davis, representing the Myrtle Beach Regional Economic Development Corporation, told the Horry County Administration Committee that the organization had 222 open leads and 42 active projects as of the current report and that marketing missions this year have produced renewed interest from site selectors. "Leads are currently 222 open leads," she said, and described recent outreach including missions to the upper Midwest and meetings at the Seafood Expo in Boston.

Davis said staff additions (Zach Noland and Randy Davies) have increased capacity for travel and local project work, and highlighted two local development targets: multiple company visits to the Bucksport Marine Park and land-clearing progress at Ascot Valley Phase 2, which she said is a little over 55 acres. She also reported private fundraising for the Horry County Community Land Trust: "the requested dollar amount that Barry tasked me with of raising a $150,000 in private funds was met as of last week," Davis said. Committee members asked clarifying questions about workforce and supply needs for existing industries; no formal action was required beyond the informational update.
