County advances network, door access and ERP planning; firewall cutover planned

Tom Bunn told the committee that the county-wide network infrastructure project has reached a point where most hardware is installed, fiber upgrades completed at several sites and remote office network equipment deployed. He said the firewall cutover was planned for April 2026 to complete the multi‑year effort and that Public Safety building hardware has been installed.
Bunn said IT plans to upgrade the door access control system from System Galaxy to Verkada to integrate access control with cameras and visitor management and to terminate the existing Linstar contract in favor of a time-and-materials arrangement that will save the county money. He also described ERP planning: Tyler Technologies will conduct an on‑site assessment in May and the county has drafted an RFP/RFI to evaluate a centralized enterprise resource planning solution to replace multiple noninteroperable systems.
