Hononegah committee leaves safety and student-behavior policies unchanged after annual review

The Hononegah Community High School District #207 Joint Finance/Policy & Personnel Committee reviewed its annual safety and student-behavior policies at its April 15 meeting and recommended no substantive changes.
The committee noted that paperwork for evacuations and lockdowns has been placed in all classrooms and that teachers and guidance counselors are aware of the district's Threat Assessment Team procedures. The committee summarized the student-behavior policy (7:190), noting the practice that "after an out-of-school suspension, there is a day of in-school suspension and an intake conference." The meeting record states, "No changes will be made."
Committee members said the January 2026 updates to student-behavior and related policies remain appropriate for current operations. The decision keeps existing procedures in place while staff continue to review operational readiness and training without proposing edits at this time.
The committee did not vote to send edits to the Board; the reviews were recorded as part of the committee's routine policy calendar.
