Mayor praises firefighters and community after two-week Jenny Creek blaze

The mayor singled out school superintendent Sarah Hadden and local fire leadership for their work. He presented awards to Chief Al Nichols and field leader Joe Russo and gave a written commendation to John Raider of the Town of Warwick "for his outstanding leadership and professionalism during the Jenny Creek fire," saying Raider and other chiefs worked "seamlessly together." The mayor also presented recognition to Chief Adam (Adam Meyer) and noted the dedication of rank-and-file firefighters who continued protecting the community after larger mutual-aid crews departed.
The remarks emphasized coordination across county and state agencies and community volunteers; the mayor called the response "a sight to be seen that a community can come together like that." He did not announce new operational changes at the meeting beyond continued appreciation and local awards.
