Council member outlines FDOT plans to reconfigure Fowler and Evans to improve walkability

He said Evans Avenue would be reconfigured from a one‑way to a two‑way alignment (two lanes northbound, one lane southbound) in parts of the corridor to improve connectivity.
Speakers noted the plans are in the design stage and funded pending the state budget; the council member warned that the schedule could change depending on the state budgeting process and any line‑item veto. Board members urged continued local advocacy to keep the project on FDOT’s schedule.
