City manager presents strategic‑plan priorities: housing, infrastructure and workforce

The city manager presented the results of a two‑day strategic planning process that engaged a cross section of stakeholders and distilled five strategic pillars: community and public safety; infrastructure and utilities; organizational excellence; financial stewardship; and community engagement and quality of life.
He said the process included a SWOT analysis and produced concrete action plans and recommended quarterly check‑ins. “Future success depends on fixing housing and infrastructure, and we're gonna hear that over and over,” the manager said as he summarized participant feedback. Commissioners asked about public outreach and whether the session reflected broad public input; the manager said the consultant solicited key stakeholders (business, religious, public safety and hospital leaders) and that additional public engagement will continue during implementation.
The plan will be treated as a living document with periodic refreshes and specific tasks assigned to department heads and staff for quarterly reporting.
