The Santa Ynez Valley Union High School District Board unanimously approved the district’s adopted 2025–26 budget and multiyear projections through 2027–28, accepted previously outlined excess reserves and adopted the Education Protection Account (EPA) budget and related resolution.
Presenters said the budget and projections were presented at the previous meeting, that no substantive edits were requested and that excess reserves remain as outlined in the adopted plan. The items passed without discussion.
On the EPA budget and resolution, the presenter noted only a minor $1 rounding discrepancy that will be corrected at first interim: "there were no questions and no edits requested to be made with the exception of the $1 rounding that was off that drove me crazy, but that will be fixed at 1st interim," the presenter said.
All budget-related motions passed on unanimous roll-call votes. No new program funding or line-item increases were presented in open session; staff indicated the $1 rounding will be fixed in the district's interim reporting.
