Staff presented the required quadrennial renewal review for 13 Agricultural and Forestal Districts (AFDs) and recommended that each district be renewed for four years subject to existing conditions. The AFDs are set to expire Oct. 31, 2026 unless renewed.
Mr. Ribeiro explained the statutory review and said staff found the districts continue to be compatible with state code and the county comprehensive plan; two parcels requested withdrawal from the Barn Swamp district and staff noted the combined acreage of those requests. Commissioners asked about the aggregate tax‑break value and staff said they would provide updated figures. The commission voted to recommend renewal of the AFDs to the Board of Supervisors.
