Green Island adopts 2025–26 budgets; general fund holds steady, sewer increase addressed earlier

The Village Board adopted proposed budgets for fiscal year 2025–26 covering the general fund, water fund, sewer fund and Section 8 fund as presented at the April 7 budget hearing. Staff told the board there was no tax increase in the general fund and no change to water fund rates; the sewer increase previously discussed was included by separate action and the Section 8 fund remains a federal pass-through.
Board members moved to adopt the four budgets simultaneously; the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. Staff indicated budgeted expenditures may be offset by grant awards for certain capital items described under the newly adopted fund-balance policy.
