Council approves rezoning to consolidate PDM precast operations

The Des Moines City Council unanimously approved item 54 on Aug. 3, authorizing a comprehensive-plan amendment and rezoning to allow expansion and consistent uses for PDM precast operations under NMDP Holdings. Angie Fonkou (speaker S4), representing the owner, told the council the request is “just continuing NMDP, which is PDM precast,” and clarified the applicant has purchased adjacent land and seeks consistent use across three properties.
Council moved and passed both first and final considerations for the ordinance after the applicant’s representative explained the operational continuity and property acquisitions. The council vote on the item recorded seven yes votes and the motion carried.
