Organizers of the Stonebridge Subdivision Parade of Homes told commissioners they expect a large public turnout and asked to close one short road for the month-long event to manage parking, vendors and safety.
The presenter said the Parade of Homes will spotlight seven homes and that "we're expecting 10 to 15,000 people over the 10 day period." Commissioners asked whether residents were notified and whether the closure would interfere with school bus routes; staff said normal access would remain via alternative streets and that emergency access would be maintained. Commissioner (S3) moved to approve the temporary road closure for the specified dates and the motion carried by voice vote.
Organizers said the closure is intended for planning and safety while vendors and show visitors are on site and that residents will still have alternate access. County staff noted they will advise school and emergency services on routing and access before the event.
