Steuben County awards Law Enforcement Grants to Cohocton, Canisteo and Hornell police departments

The Steuben County Legislature authorized three intermunicipal agreements on May 18, 2026, distributing funding from the county Law Enforcement Grant Program. The Town of Cohocton received $9,879.64 to purchase six Glock 17T Gen5 training pistols, protective gear and training ammunition; the Village of Canisteo received $10,000 to buy surveillance cameras and secure vehicle storage equipment; and the City of Hornell received $10,000 to add a camera site to the county’s Community Camera Program.
Each award was approved by the Public Safety & Corrections and Finance Committees and forwarded to the County Manager for execution of intermunicipal agreements. Certified copies of each resolution will be forwarded to municipal officials and police chiefs for procurement and implementation.
