Treasurer reports CISA cybersecurity review complete; warns of steep PEIA premium increases

Treasurer Leslie Cummings told the council that the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) completed a cybersecurity risk assessment of the town's water, sewer and billing operations on Oct. 8, 2024.
Cummings also warned that the Public Employees Insurance Agency (PEIA) is projecting a roughly 14% increase in premiums for the next fiscal year and that deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums are expected to increase "by at least 100% to employees," prompting a supervisors meeting to develop options to present to council. Cummings additionally reminded residents of a flu-shot clinic scheduled for Oct. 11, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
