Horry County council adopted Resolution R50-2025 naming May 18–24, 2025 as Emergency Medical Services Week. Council member Webster introduced the resolution and asked Chief Tanner to present remarks to council.
Chief Tanner told council the county’s EMS personnel had responded to about 25,000 calls so far this year, saying, "this is just a small portion of the people who've run to 25,000 calls already this year." He thanked public-safety committee leadership and council for support and highlighted the operational demands on EMS staff.
