Horry County council unanimously adopted Resolution R49-2025 designating April 13–19, 2025 as National Telecommunicator Week. Council member Webster introduced the presentation and asked Director Renee Hardwick to speak to the resolution.
"We are the lifeline for the public, but we are also the lifeline for the field responders in the field," Director Renee Hardwick said, stressing the value of telecommunicators who sit behind radios and phones. Hardwick noted the county will mark 35 years of 9-1-1 service in October and thanked those who staff the consoles and their supervisors for the work they do.
