Mayor: city response restored power to 96% after storms; city to review response

Mayor Frank Finnegan told the City Council that crews from Police, Public Works and Fire departments teamed with ComEd and community volunteers to restore service after severe storms. Finnegan said some residents were without power for four days, the city opened charging and cooling centers, and streets were cleared quickly. He said the city will "assess and evaluate what we did right and where we can improve," and praised the cross-department effort that kept recovery from being worse.
