The advisory board reviewed a tier 2 grant request from Gulf Coast Humane Society for exterior repairs at 2010 Arcadia Street, including patching, structural exterior repairs, irrigation, walkways and fencing. The lowest contractor estimate was $417,814; at 50% that would be $208,907 but the programs tier cap limits the recommended award at $200,000. "When we say structural, it did mean exterior structural," staff said to clarify that interior buildout and new construction are not covered by the grant.
Board members asked for assurances that new construction and interior work were excluded from the scope; staff and the applicant confirmed the recommended award is for exterior work only. The advisory board voted to move the Humane Societys request to the full board asking for approval.
