"We started hearing maybe late March, early April that there were, they hadn't been effectuated yet… we got an email mid April saying, oh, you need to submit deputy sheriffs for the cost calculation," the staff member said, describing the back‑and‑forth with the state. The staff member said the cost ends up being the same but the delays have stretched months and caused frustration for affected employees.
Committee members acknowledged the situation and approved the staff recommendation on the matter; no additional county policy changes were adopted in the spoken record. Staff asked that the county be given assistance by the state to finalize the processing.
