Marie Ballou, Ottawa County Emergency Management Director, presented the Region F Hazard Mitigation Plan and explained it is required every five years to keep the county eligible for FEMA mitigation grant programs.
Commissioner Carla Grund moved to adopt Resolution 25-07 for the 2025 Region F Hazard Mitigation Plan; Commissioner Duane Morris seconded the motion. The board voted 3-0 to adopt the resolution.
Ballou summarized that keeping the plan current preserves the county's eligibility for federal mitigation funding, which can support projects that reduce long-term community risk from natural hazards. The commission offered no amendments during the presentation and adopted the resolution as presented.
